Primary Health Network (PHN)

A Primary Health Network is an administrative health region established to deliver access to primary care services for patients, as well as co-ordinate with local hospitals in order to improve the overall operational efficiency of the network. Primary Health Network have a number of key roles in improving primary health care services for communities, by working directly with GPs, other primary health care providers, secondary care providers, hospitals and the broader community to ensure improved outcomes for patients. There are six key priorities for targeted work: Mental health; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health; Population health; Health workforce eHealth and Aged care.
