The mental health system provides support for people and their families who experience mental health issues to recover. It also aims to assist people to improve their mental health and live well in the community. Many families and carers find it hard to understand this system. For many it’s a big puzzle. People can struggle to have their questions answered, and to know:
- what’s available
- for whom, when and where
- how to access support and services
- how to raise concerns about services provided
